Sweden Flag

Sweden's flag features a golden-yellow Nordic cross on a sky-blue field. The cross is offset to the left — the vertical arm sits at roughly one-third of the flag's width — a hallmark of all Nordic cross flags.

The official shade of blue is Azure (Pantone 301 C), and the cross is a bright golden yellow (Pantone 109 C). The flag's proportions are 5:8.

Blue and yellow have been Swedish royal colours since at least the 14th century, appearing in the coat of arms of the Three Crowns. The cross design is shared by all Nordic nations and traces its origin to the Dannebrog (Danish flag), believed to be among the oldest national flags in continuous use.

Sweden's flag was given a formal legal basis in 1906, with precise colour standards established over the 20th century. National Flag Day is celebrated on 6 June, also Sweden's National Day.
